Important Updates

Library Stocktake During Electives (next week)
All school library books need to be returned by this Wednesday (ideally!) for stocktake. It would be hugely appreciated if your student could do the 'under the bed', 'in the car' and 'behind the sofa' check.

Books can be left in the grey ‘Returns’ tray on the library desk.

Payment requests for lost books will be issued after stock take.

DNI Cross Country 2020
The DNI Cross Country is scheduled for Friday 21 August (with a reserve day of Friday 28 August). As in previous years, the event will be held at the Logan Park grounds, with the start and finish being at the Caledonian running track.

The objectives for this event are:
- For all students to participate and achieve the best result they can (challenge themselves)
- To identify students who will represent DNI at the Otago Cross Country championships in September.

More details will be sent out closer to the time but we do require some parents and caregivers to act as marshals on the course.

If you, or someone you know, are available from approximately 12.30pm - 2.30pm on Friday 21 August, please email and I will contact you to confirm.

Many thanks in advance,
Chris Marslin

Year 7 Vision Screening
The Vision Hearing Technicians from Population Health, Southern District Health will be visiting our school later in August to screen all year seven students for distance vision (plus any year eights missed in 2019).

  • Distance Vision (Amblyopia & Hyperopia)

This determines how well your child is able to see at a distance. It involves reading an eye chart.

(Not required if child wears glasses/ or is currently under care for their vision)

If you do not wish your child to be screened please fill out an opt-out slip, which are available at the school office before our visit.
