DNI Cross Country Update plus Orbus Bee Card

DNI Cross Country Update:
As we remain at Level 2, we are not able to run the DNI Cross Country at the Caledonian/Logan Park area on Friday as scheduled. However, so that students do not miss out on running a race, next week each syndicate will complete a special course around the school as their cross country for the year.

At this stage, we are unsure if the Otago Cross Country will be able to go ahead in September, but in case it does, each syndicate will time their races and the fastest students in each group will have the opportunity to represent the school at the Otago event

Syndicates will be letting their classes know in advance which day their races will be. Unfortunately due to Level 2 restrictions, we are unable to invite parents to come and spectate this year.

Bee Card:
The new bus card, the Bee Card, replaces the GoCard and will be used from Tuesday 1 September on Dunedin’s Orbus network.
Children 5-18 years old are eligible for cheaper youth fares with the Bee Card. A Youth Fare is being trialed until the end of the year. It’s $1.20 for any trip across the network in Dunedin using a Bee Card. A cash fare (without a Bee Card) is $3 for any trip.
To get the discounted fare, the Bee Card must be registered online (along with birth date) at

We have a number of Bee Cards available at the DNI Office if you'd like one.
