DNI Cross Country

This year’s DNI Cross Country will be held at Opoho Park this Friday 20 August (with a reserve date of Friday 27 August).

Students have been training hard during fitness time and we encourage everyone to participate and achieve their personal best. As this is a whole school event, those not competing will need to have a note from home indicating they have a medical condition or injury.

For students who are competitive runners, the top 6 runners in each race will have the opportunity to represent DNI at the Otago Cross Country on 10 September.

On the day, we will have an early lunch break and then walk through the Gardens to Opoho Park. We will be leaving school at 12:40pm and returning after the final race.
The approximate itinerary is as follows:

1:10pm – Year 7 Girls
1.25pm – Year 7 Boys
1.45pm – Year 8 Girls
2:05pm – Year 8 Boys

Parents are welcome to come and watch. You may choose to take your child home afterwards, however we ask that you let your child’s teacher know that this will be happening before you leave please.

On the day, could students please bring their full PE uniform, a jacket, water bottle and any medication (especially inhalers) that they need. Depending on the conditions, the track may be a little muddy so an extra bag for dirty shoes is also a good idea.

Please let me know if you have any questions
